HSBC announced that Conrado Engel, the current CEO of HSBC Brasil, will leave the bank. Engel worked at HSBC for nine years.
Azul Linhas Aéreas announced Henrique Meirelles, Brazil’s former central bank chief, as a member of its board of directors. Meirelles was at the helm of the central bank from 2003 to 2010 and is the president of J&F, a group that owns firms including meatpacker JBS.
The board of directors of homebuilder JHSF Participações approved the issuance of R$350 million ($194 million) of debentures.
AES Eletropaulo informs it will invest R$841 million ($467 million) in 2012, up by 13.8 percent compared with 2011.
AES Brasil Group intends to invest roughly R$5.5 billion ($3.05 billion) in energy distribution and generation through 2016. About R$4.7 billion will be earmarked for distribution and R$814 million for generation.
Isolux Infrastrucuture, a subsidiary of Spanish group Isolux Corsan, called off an initial public offering in Brazil. Isolux intended to raise as much as R$1.5 billion ($830 million) in the IPO on BM&FBovespa.
